PIKSH auger-type wireline spear engages, retains and retrieves well-logging wireline, electric wireline, slickline and wire rope during fishing operations in a wellbore.
PIKSH consists of a grapple (auger) in the form of lengthwise helix and a mill guide. The grapple is integral with a sub that has thread to connect to the string at the top, and tubing thread for connecting a guide at the bottom. The grapple and the guide are made of alloy steel.
The mill guide mills, guides and restrains wireline from motion.
Wire coiling in the confined space facilitates retrieval from a wellbore, while dismountability allows for clean-up and further re-use.
